Chamber Message |
|
"Dear Members and Friends of our
Chamber
With the increase of memberships and the number of events keeping us very busy (see
our calendar below or check (www.facci.com.au), we are trying to stick to our promise
of a quarterly newsletter!
Fortunately, our full time office representatives to date have been fantastic and
many of our current initiatives, including this newsletter, would not happen without
the exceptional support from Marine who after only 6 weeks with us already masters
the job!
But I would also like to sincerely thank Noemie Sparfel, an IT specialist and friend
of the Chamber, who gave us the motivation to re-start our newsletter 6 months ago,
by spontaneously offering her support to shape and format our electronic newsletter.
In this issue, it is also important to note that our membership structure and fees
are changing to a new National Membership scheme, and we would like to ask you to
carefully read the relevant paragraph further down.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our AGM on Wednesday April 28th.
Philippe Reboul"

Brisbane French Festival
|
|
The Brisbane French Festival 2010 will be held Saturday 17th of July
at the Cultural
Forecourt of South Bank. This event
will be a fantastic occasion to gather all the Brisbane French community
to celebrate and promote French language and culture.
This festival will feature an exposition with a range of stalls, interactive children's
activities, a French conversation corner, roving performers, cooking
demonstrations and more. In the evening, it will transform into the Bal Populaire
featuring bands and a authentic French menu.
Above the social dimension of this event, it represents an important business opportunity
for FACCI Qld members in so far large companies are expected to sponsor and attend
the event.
Moreover, being a sponsor of this event is an opportunity to enhance your company's
public image and access a wide range of audiences such as industries from Francophone
and Francophile business backgrounds, government entities and of course customers.
Please visit www.brisbanefrenchfestival.com
for more details or find them on Facebook.

Art Cocktail
|
"With three amazing artists, sculptor, painter and photographer, we had for sure
a great recipe for an exceptional cocktail of art! Many of you have told us how
much you were impressed by the pieces on display and we must sincerely thank our
artists for the effort they put in preparing for this event; two of them drove from
the Sunshine Coast and our photographer had to get all his pictures ready in only
a few weeks.
And because art sometimes "has to mean" business too for our artists to survive
and expand, our two guests speakers came from Trade Queensland and Art Queensland,
hence giving an opportunity to respectively hear about some of the initiatives and
programs in place to foster Australian-French business and to promote Queensland
artists in Australia and overseas.
If you could not attend, we strongly recommend you check the artist websites (www.christinemaudy.com,
www.aldemene.com, www.stephan-maxime-garcia.com)
and why not, the venue too (www.confit.com.au)
whose chef Jason
Peppler provided us with excellent French-inspired canapés!
With over 65 people, we were nearly fully booked and would like to thank all of you
again for helping us to make this evening such a memorable event!"

on the 26 February, gave FACCI members an opportunity to hear about managing
currency
risk and reducing costs in making international payments. Thanks to everyone who
attended we look forward to holding more events this year!"

Christmas party |
"As many of our guests and members have noticed, this year we broke away from our
traditionnal venue in Douglas St, Milton as most of you know, this is because usual
Christmas party host and long term member Unique France had just moved out of Douglas
St to their new and amazing premise in Brunswick St. This was an opportunity for
our Chamber to find a different but equally venue at the Hilton Brisbane, one of
our new corporate members.
With our special Guest Speaker, Greg Nielsen, Director-General of the Office of
Clean Energy, Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, over
120 attendees and the support from Duons, our major sponsor, as well as Intramar
and many in-kind sponsors, this was another successful event!
Thank you to all our members and guests for their support!"
