NSW’s top business women head to Awards finals
|
Starting as a part-time, one-woman consulting venture, French-born Corinne Bot identified a niche in the human resources market while sourcing staff for French businesses in Australia. Despite challenges with raising capital, in 1995 Corinne began international recruitment business Polyglot Group. Corinne says the Polyglot business model is 100 per cent based on harnessing what she describes as Australia’s biggest asset – its multicultural society. The business provides customised multicultural and multilingual solutions to international companies investing in Australia as well as Australian companies expanding overseas. As founder and Chief Executive Officer, Corinne has achieved average business growth of 30 per cent a year since 1995. She has offices in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, as well as a partnership in New-Caledonia. As an advisor for French Foreign Trade, Corinne mentors many young visitors to Australia, ensuring they build useful networks and return with a positive view of Australia for the future.
“A passion for service, combined with an ethical approach and commitment to diversity are testament to the foundations of the company’s culture, but also reflect my own values” – Corinne Bot.

A double dose of BEN HUR for Giulio
More than 1,000 people registered for their chance to snare a role in the upcoming production of BEN HUR – The Stadium Spectacular at ANZ Stadium. But only one had the 1950s movie of the same name on his resume. Giulio Pezzutti was just 19 years old when he was an extra in the 11-time Academy Award winning film Ben Hur, starring Charlton Heston. Now 75, the Fairfield West resident has landed a role in BEN HUR at ANZ Stadium.
Registrations flooded in following the announcement BEN HUR producers would offer 15 paid roles in the $15 million production to members of the public.
About half of the 1000 applicants were invited to the auditions held at ANZ Stadium and Giulio was one of three selected on the day.The remaining 12 are still to be named.
BEN HUR – The Stadium Spectacular executive producer Andrew Guild said: “It was wonderful to get such a huge response from the public.
“From the excitement at the auditions, it was quite obvious there is huge excitement surrounding this show.
“People just want to be a part of something big and, as we know, there’s not much that’s bigger than Ben Hur."
“Giulio really impressed us at the auditions and with his experience on the movie I know he’ll be a very special addition to the cast.”
Narrated by Academy Award winner Russell Crowe, BEN HUR – The Stadium Spectacular will be the biggest theatrical event ever seen in Australia.
BEN HUR will show at ANZ Stadium on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 October. Tickets are available through Ticketek. Visit www.ticketek.com.au or call 132 849.

DAVID to CEZANNE - The finest collection of French drawings in the world
 |
The Gallery presents David to Cézanne: Master drawings from the Prat Collection, Paris an exhibition of 101 French drawings spanning the course of the 19th century. This was a century when France, more than any other country, produced the finest succession of great artists: David, Ingres, Delacroix, Géricault, Millet, Daumier, Manet, Degas, Redon, Moreau, Seurat, Cézanne - all represented in this exhibition through drawings of superlative quality.
This is the first time that the collection has been seen in Australia, offering a rare opportunity to see some of the most beautiful examples of 19th-century drawing and provides an insight into the fascinating world of the collector.;
The collection is, according to Pierre Rosenberg, former director of the Louvre:
a top-rank ensemble ... [striking for the] invariably perfect quality of each drawing ... Rarely has there been such a manifest, coherent determination to conceive a collection as a creation; in isolation each sheet delights and enchants; all together these drawings ... are a lesson in the history of art, a non-verbal lesson, and all the more enjoyable for that ...
