Mining Industry Forum
.
Operating in Remote Areas
Challenges and Solutions for the Mining Sector
The mining sector is key to the Australian economy, with some of the world's
most important mineral assets resting in our own backyard. Yet the
remoteness and harshness of the environment in which these operations need
to succeed, typically hundreds of kilometres away from major cities and
centres of population, throws up many unique challenges for which solutions
have had to be developed and adapted.
The French-Australian Chamber of
Commerce & Industry (FACCI) is delighted to invite you
to this forum which will focus on how the mining sector deals with the
challenges of operating in remote areas and how it is tackling these
through innovative technology solutions.
Our seminar will be moderated by
Mireille Giraud (Engagement Director - Large Projects) and Trevor Lewis (Business Partner - Large Projects) of Orange Business Services and will
include five speakers:
John
Clayton (Director - Portunus Corporate Advisory)
Dave
Hoffman (Managing Director - WEL Corporation)
Martha
Morecock Eddy (National ITS Manager – URS)
Dr
Dennis Franklin (Director – Indago)
Dr Hari Gunasingham (CEO - EuTech & Sigma Sustainability Institute)
They will share their experience,
expertise and insight on
a range of areas including strategy,
communications, safety, innovation, sustainability, infrastructure
and logistics.
The presentations will be followed
by a Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to talk
with the speakers and network over morning tea.
