Stand: FACCI-FRENCH SPEAKING AFRICA
Conference: Opportunities to do business in Francophone Africa, Challenges & keys to success” - Team France.
FACCI WA held a ‘French-Speaking Africa’ stand at the Africa Down Under conference, on September 7-9 at the Pan Pacific Perth. During this conference, major mining companies and Ministers of Mines from African countries were invited, totalling 1500 delegates.
Our FACCI stand hosted 4 Australian and French businesses: Arethuse Geology, Essential Project Solutions, Petromod and DTP Mining (Bouyges Construction) It was a great opportunity for our exhibitors to display their assets for doing business in French-Speaking Africa.
This exhibition was not only the possibility for FACCI WA and our exhibitors to meet interesting people from the mining industry and African governments but to also strengthen existing relationships.
During the ADU conference we also partnered with the French Embassy as TEAM FRANCE to present a Conference on the “Opportunities to do business in Francophone Africa, Challenges & keys to success” offering a platform to facilitate the trilateral commercial relationship between Francophone Africa, Australia and France.
Our guest speakers Chris Tallentire MLA, Shadow Minister for Environment Member of Parliament; opened our Business Seminar by emphasizing the importance for Australian businesses in partnering with French companies and organizations, in particular to settle in French-Speaking Africa.
Mr Christophe Bories, Economic counsellor for France to Australia; spoke about the strong political, cultural and economical ties between France and Africa, and how France can support Australian companies in their path to success in French-Speaking Africa.
Mr Roger de Robillard, Ambassador for the International Council for Commercial Arbitration 2016 and Honorary Representative Mauritius Board of Investment in Australia presented the Republic of Mauritius and the assets of settling in this country with the view to enter in the African market.
Mr Benoit De Fornel, Business Development Manager WA for Bouygues Construction Australia shared his experience as a French Company established in Africa for the past 50 years. Mr de Fornel highlighted 4 key assets to work in Africa: safety, logistics, hiring local Workforceandethics.
Mr Bryan Hughes, Director at Pitcher Partners, detailed the challenge of settling in French Speaking Africa for Australian and global companies and explained how Pitcher Partners can help them to face those challenges.
The evening ended with our attendees asking pertinent questions to our guest speakers followed by a cocktail function.
