High-profile guests make for another successful FACCI business seminar
On August the 7th, French Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WA) was pleased to host a business seminar around the theme of the Australian election's impact on companies and their projects' development.
More than 80 attended to hear guest speakers the Hon. Barry House (President of the WA Legislative Council) and Dr Harry Philips (political analyst and Parliamentary Fellow) present their insights and expert views on the workings of government in Australia.
Our guests of honour, His Excellency Stephane Romatet (French Ambassador to Australia) and Eric Soulier (Cooperation and Cultural Counsellor), highlighted the importance of commercial and cultural relationships between France and Australia, especially in light of next year's World War I Centenary commemorations.
A question and answer session concluded the seminar, during which both guest speakers responded to questions about issues such as compulsory voting and the future of the three tiers of government in Australia's political landscape.
A relaxed and sociable cocktail reception followed, giving everyone the opportunity to mingle and extend their professional networks. The event highlighted the importance that FACCI places on facilitating connections between French and Australian companies.
The chamber would like to thank the Hon. Barry House and Dr Harry Phillips for their valuable contribution, His Ex. Stephane Romatet and Eric Soulier for their continuing support for French cultural and commercial projects in WA, and Patron Member Ernst & Young for hosting the evening.
Beneteau French-Australian Chamber Cup 2013
The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI), along with Beneteau and Vicsail, were proud to present the 22nd edition of the Beneteau French-Australian Chamber Regatta on the 22nd of November at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) in Rushcutters Bay. The Regatta is one of the FACCI’s largest flagship events as it encourages our members and non-members alike to engage in team building and corporate networking in a relaxed and social atmosphere.
The regatta has been an annual event on FACCI’s social calendar since 1991 and over the years, it has come to gather an increasing number of high profile executive participants from the French-Australian business community. This year, there were over 400 participants in the race on 47 boats of Beneteau fleet.
Mr. Eric Berti, General-Consul of France in Sydney, welcomed guests as the Commodore of the Regatta. Then, the day began with a light breakfast presented by Boatique and Global Grapevine which included two of France’s much loved delicacies - croissants and champagne. The race took place in the early afternoon with lunch provided by D’Albora Marina on board. Although the event was organised to show off Sydney’s spectacular harbour in sunny spring weather, the stormy conditions made for an even more exciting and exhilarating day of sailing through the rough waves. The race was then followed by a prize ceremony and dinner at CYCA. The FACCI would also like to congratulate the winners of the Regatta.
The FACCI would like to thank all of the sponsors who made the success of the day possible, including our very own FACCI member New Caledonia Tourism who supplied a dream holiday to New Caledonia for the lucky door prize winner. A charity raffle was also drawn on the day with proceeds going towards the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The FACCI was very proud to have been part of the event and we look forward to creating an even bigger and better Regatta for 2014.
We hope to see you there!
