Environmental Landscape with Circa's actions for sustainability.

The Emile Huchet power plant in Moselle (France) is undergoing a green transformation, as it turn away from coal with the development of the "ReSolute" facility - Circa'first commercial scale facility outside Australia.

Gazel Energie and FACCI member Circa signed a lease on October 31, 2023, marking a significant step in this eco-friendly shift, with plans to convert the coal-fired plant into site focussed on new sustainable technologies.

Antonin Arnoux, Director of the Emile Huchet site, stated:

"This signature confirms a transformation process that has been developing for over three years, paving the way for a green chemical industry."

Backed by the EU H2020 Flagship program and the "France Relance" program, the innovative biomass project, received over twelve million euros in funding.

Circa group's facility, focusing on converting biomass waste into green solvents, is expected to create around fifty jobs when it is fully operational early 2025, marking the first step in the site's industrial revitalisation.

Salvatore Coscarella, President of the Saint-Avold / Synergie Agglomeration Community (CASAS) and Mayor of Valmont, expressed satisfaction, noting the territory's transition "from petrochemicals to green chemistry."

The biomass conversion involves constructing a plant that transforms wood sawdust from the Vosges region into green solvents, applicable in various industries.

Agnès Pannier-RunacherMinister of the Ecological Transition, said:

"This initiative is the symbol of the industry of the future."
