In line with our theme for 2017: Sustainability, one of our members, Gauthier Chatel has been working with a team of chemical engineers from the University of New South Wales on an innovative project, Climate Pole Solution.
This project is a particularly exciting step on the road to sustainability, as it aims to develop a product with the capacity to capture greenhouse gases and deadly particles like PM 2.5 and PM10, which are responsible for the premature deaths of more than 6 million people each year. The product itself will be installed outdoors as well as being incorporated into buildings and infrastructure.
Gauthier, founder of Climate Pole Solution, explains this unique idea in an interview here.
The leading researcher in this project has won numerous prestigious rewards for his work on CO2 capture project, and has been granted a significant amount of money for different research areas. Climate Pole Solution has also won the prize for the most innovative concept from the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW.
However, the Climate Pole Solution project needs further investment in their research. The project has set up a GoFundMe crowdsourcing page to help raise the necessary funds to be able to achieve this exciting goal. This is becoming even more crucial with the threat of global warming and climate change becoming increasingly evident in our daily lives.
