AIRCALIN and AIR VANUATU sign codeshare agreement

    Members' News  |

Aircalin and Air Vanuatu have just signed a codeshare agreement which allows the two airlines to jointly offer 6 flights a week between Noumea and Port-Vila. This partnership is set to strengthen the regional cooperation between New-Caledonia and Vanuatu, from which customers from both airlines will benefit.

As from 1st November 2017, customers will now be able to purchase tickets on Air Vanuatu and travel from 1st January 2018, on a flight operated by Aircalin and vice-versa on Aircalin. All flights between Port-Vila and Noumea are code-shared, which means Aircalin will have SB code on all four flights operated by Air Vanuatu and Air Vanuatu will put its NF code on the two flights operated by Aircalin.

The implementation of this agreement offers customers from both airlines 6 flights a week with better connectivity to/from outer ports in Vanuatu, and especially Santo and Tanna. Aircalin operates on Friday and Sunday afternoons. Air Vanuatu will operate as from 1st January 2018 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, whilst maintaining its Sunday service as a supplementary flight for the month of January. This new schedule will allow further connections, which is expected to grow the demand in both airlines during high peak periods.

    Didier Tappero, Aircalin's Managing Director:

"I am delighted about the signing of the agreement between both airlines, it is a step forward in strengthening the regional cooperation between New Caledonia and Vanuatu. This partnership also offers our valued corporate clients and customers as well as Tour Operators more flexibility and choice whilst deciding on their itineraries."

Joseph Laloyer, Air Vanuatu's Managing Director

"The finalization of this agreement between the two companies allows more possibilities to our clients. In Vanuatu, we expect a growth in demand, not only to/from the three main destinations such as Port-Vila, Santo and Tanna, but also towards the outer islands with a growing tourism potential."
