French multinational software company Dassault Systèmes which provides software systems to support 3D design and modelling, simulation, information and intelligence has recently planned to open an office in Adelaide. The French giant software has signed an agreement with Australian engineering firm LogiCamms to map digital capability in large manufacturing projects across the state. Some of Dassault Systèmes top executives were in Adelaide last month to discuss plans to build a 3D virtual shipyard and model the Adelaide CBD.
Dassault Systèmes has also signed a 30 year contract (renewable every 10 years) worth a billion dollar with the aerospace company Boeing "to design future products, to modernise the entire production system and to deploy new services" with the use of 3D software.
