The French Society Of Queensland Inc, known as French Assist QLD, will hold its 2018 Annual General Meeting on Saturday the 3rd of March 2018, in the presence of Mr Nicolas Croizier, Consul-General of France in Australia.
Established since 1999 in Queensland, French Assist works hand in hand with the French General Consulate in Sydney and the French Honorary Consulate in Brisbane to support French people and their families, either living or holidaying in Australia, who find themselves in situation of crisis.
French Assist's team take in charge over 100 cases a year, ranging from mild to severe, and which translates into countless interventions including visiting hospitals, old folks home and prisons, contacting Australian agencies (police, court, housing, health, etc…), or assisting with French pension applications.
French Assist's help - both moral and financial, temporary and ongoing - would not be possible without its amazing team of volunteers and wider network of helpers offering their time and expertise.
The upcoming 2018 Annual meeting - Saturday 3 March - will be the opportunity to welcome new members and helpers as well as to replace its current Interim Committee (see below):
Honorary President: Lady Jane Edwards
President: Rosa Dedaj
Vice President: Tom Kimmet
Treasurer: Judy Xavier
Secretary: Jocelyne Poirier
Assistant Secretary: Pascale Sinclair
Website Developer: Sophie Jouglards
If you wish to become a French Assist member and helper or to step up as a Committee volunteer alongside our Honorary Consul Lady Jane Edward, please do not hesitate to express your interest asap to FR.ASSIST@mail.com.
