Meet Our Member: Cedric Magneron, CEO of Estimages

    NSW  |

Estimages is specialised in the geostatistical processing of geospatialised data. The company is multi sector but historically started to provide services for the Exploration Oil & Gas Industry. Our client are the Oil & Gas companies. We help them to have a better usage of the seismic data they work with to characterise the underground oil & gas fields .

“We have run a trade mission in 2010. A few companies were contacted at this occasion. As a result, we got in touch with Shell for a test which has been successful. Shell will stay a support in the following years whether for technical project, publications or establishment of Estimages' reputation in the industry.

We have started a significant project in 2011 over an entire basin (Browse) which involved 5 companies at the time. A need to have an office in Perth emerged. The office opened at the beginning of 2012 and the affiliate was created late April 2012, with 2 VIE on top of the manager”,
    said Cédric.

Since 2012, Estimages have led over 50 projects for a dozen of companies : TOTAL, ENI, Mitsui, Inpex, Chevron, Shell Todd, Carnarvon Petroleum Limited, Santos, BP,Murphy Oil, GDF SUEZ, Shell, ConcoPhilips, Drillsearch. The affiliate has a 625,000 AUD annual revenue and has been showing positive results since the opening of the affiliate.

“Despite the crisis in the Oil&Gas industry, the forecasts are encouraging. We have initiated new projects in new locations (NZ, PNG, australian onshore) which has led to the opening of a second office in Sydney, hosted by the FACCI. The office in Sydney is also a good opportunity to develop the other sectors of the company as per our environmental services (pollutant mapping and risk estimation) or the business intelligence with the construction of business geo-indicators”,
    explained Cédric.

Today, Estimages Australia comprises 3 people and another VIE will join the team in January in the Perth office.
