    The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Victoria is looking for a new State Manager.

     

    I. DETAILS 

    Location:  Melbourne, VIC

    II. ROLE

    • Senior leadership role in the FACCI VIC Chapter
    • Operating within the national FACCI framework, responsible for FACCI VIC Chapter operations, finance and activities to ensure development, growth and profitable operation
    • Reports to National General Manager

    III. RESPONSIBILITIES

    Management and leadership of VIC staff

    Act as Leader and Manager

    • Daily management and coaching of junior team
    • Manage human resources and allocation of responsibilities and tasks

    Management of Sales & Marketing activities:

    Act as a Business Development Manager

    • Maximise members' satisfaction and return on investment, act as the main point of contact for all member enquiries
    • Propose and implement sales and marketing strategies to recruit new members (focusing on Patron & Corporate level membership) and development of trade activities
    • Ensure FACCI is marketed in line with national policy
    • Represent FACCI at functions, conferences and exhibitions

    Management of Events:

    Act as Events Manager

    • Develop annual events calendar and supervise organisation of seminars
    • Organise, implement and manage events (define/negotiate budget, suppliers, entertainment, speakers, venues, guests, ticket sales, etc.)
    • Research financial and in-kind sponsors for flagship events and maintain relationship with sponsors
    • Liaise with Communication Manager regarding event communication (including social media)
    • Increase the number of attendees at FACCI events and improve quality of events

    Management of Finance:

    Act as a Finance Officer (liaising with Treasurer and Accountant)

    • Submit and obtain approval of annual detailed budget in line with strategic objectives
    • Directly manage the Profit & Loss statement & report on a monthly basis to ensure profitability
    • Control costs in line with approved budget and objectives

    Management of relations with VIC Board and stakeholders:

    • Liaise with management with respect to achieving budget
    • Engage the support of the board as and when required
    • Supervise and prepare VIC Chapter Council meetings and

    VIC Chapter Annual General Meeting:

    • Provide a monthly presentation at VIC Chapter Council meetings
    • Maintain good relationship with key stakeholders (French institutions, board members, sponsors)

    Management of office:

    • Maintain office and arrange for maintenance of assets
    • Oversee data back-up
    • Ascertain and allocate IT needs

    IV. EXPERIENCE

    • Proven success and experience in sales and management in fields relevant to FACCI
    • Experience in communicating effectively (excellent oral and written communication) at all levels both within and outside an organisation.
    • Experience in a leadership role including a track record of demonstrating initiative, confidence in liaising with senior management and a preparedness to make difficult decisions
    • Experience in organising activities and events (creative marketing skills)
    • Experience in financial budgeting and delivery

    V. REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Fluency in both written and spoken English (written and spoken French language skills will be viewed favourably)
    • Computer literacy including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, experience with CRM also beneficial
    • Leadership, team management and motivational skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Customer-centric approach with an ability to negotiate
    • Strong organisation and time management skills
    • Problem-solving and analytical ability
    • Ability to work autonomously, flexibly and display resilience
    • Ability to initiate and drive change
    • Approachable and pro-active nature
    • Ability to think creatively
