Breakfast Seminar Industry Focus Group ‘Presentation of French Innovation and Technology in Oil, Gas, Mining and Defence with Dassault Systemes and Veolia’

On Tuesday 24th October, the WA Chapter organised a new edition of the Industry Focus Group Business Seminar with Dassault Systemes and Veolia focusing on Innovation and Technology.

We were delighted to welcome our two guest speakers, Craig Bradley and Lynton Mayne, who shared their insights into the Oil, Gas, Mining and Defence industries.

Craig Bradley, Principal Consultant, Dassault Systemes introduced us to Dassault Systemes' latest innovation: their 3D Experience Platform. This platform delivers the power and the difference in each application including social and collaborative, information intelligence and virtual reality simulation.

Whilst Dassault Systemes, which has more than 12,000 partners around the world, is well-known to be one of the leaders in aerospace, defence and government industries, the company is now developing their innovative 3D Experience Platform through the mining industry and fostering new opportunities in this sector.

Craig finished his presentation with an insight into business risks for the mining and metals industry, discussing digital effectiveness and cyber risk.

Our second guest speaker, Lynton Mayne, Business Development Manager at Veolia gave us an overview of the company's global presence and its core expertise in Water, Waste and Energy.

Lynton highlighted Veolia’s recent industrial and municipal international innovations, as well as focusing on two more local innovative topics. This included the TRH reliability onsite in oily wastewater, looking at a  more effective process to measure it and the emerging concerns with PFAS-contaminated groundwater and the reduction technology that has been developed to treat it.

Our audience of 60, also heard about “North West Alliance”, the successful joint venture operated by Veolia to help grow the local indigenous economy. This joint venture has shown tremendous success in terms of a high employment rate in the indigenous community based in Port Hedland, Karratha and Newman.

We would like to thank everyone for coming and special thanks to our guests speakers Lynton and Craig for their fantastic presentations.

You can find each presentation in further detail here.

Please stay tuned for our next Industry Series Focus Group event and we look forward to seeing you there!
