Thanks for sharing your precious time with us yesterday. It was delightful to interact briefly.
Gavin Yeates (Gavin Yeates Consulting), challenged us by giving us an insightful view of what a miner is expecting from the METS. He added a new challenge to the long list of difficulties of a miner with the reducing skill level required on a mine site. However, Yeates also expressed some encouraging information such as the amazing cost reduction for Iron Ore production from $30/T in 2011/12 to $15$/T in 2015/16 and the increased investment by mining companies toward innovation. He emphasised the need to focus on digital revolution and on the process rather than the tools. It was a firework of ideas, concepts and advice. Thanks Gavin. You made our evening, one to remember.
Thanks also to Craig Bradley from Dassault Systemes for providing further demonstration of the power of their 3D platform solution, and is certainly in line with Gavin's earlier speech.
Thanks to Charles Vuillier from ATC Williams for moderating skilfully this evening and sharing his passion with everyone.
The virtual mine booth organised by Dassault Systmes was the icing on the cake. Thank you for your enthusiasm.
Last but not the least, thanks to all the FACCI Team for putting up such an interesting evening.
Save the date: our next Mining Innovation briefing with Michelle Ash (CIO at Barrick Gold) will be held on November 2nd. (register here)
