On Wednesday 5 April 2017, the South Australian Chapter of the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce hosted its first joint networking event with partner Adelaide Accueil at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Fifty members of the French-Australian business community and new French arrivals to Adelaide enjoyed a private tour of the Versus Rodin exhibition.
FACCI SA Chapter President, Chris Sharpley welcomed the guests to the event and canvassed the role of FACCI's South Australian Chapter in light of emerging opportunities for cultural and business ties with France following the announcement of the DCNS contract. Sophie Cheroux, President of Adelaide Accueil, welcomed new French arrivals to Adelaide and outlined the activities and services provided by Adelaide Accueil, a not-for-profit organisation that welcomes les francophones and their families to South Australia.
Lisa Slade, the Assistant Director of Artistic Programs, guided the guests around the exhibition, which displays the largest collection of Rodin’s bronze sculptures in the Southern Hemisphere alongside works by some of the 21st century’s celebrated and controversial artists. The event showcased South Australia’s growing connections with France as guests mixed over fine wine provided by FACCI SA Chapter's partner, Pernod Ricard Australia, and cheese platters catered by the Art Gallery of SA.
