Round 2 of the Accelerate Small Business Grants is open for applications

Community news, QLD Community news  |

Under the program, matched funding up to $10,000 is available for eligible small businesses that demonstrate high-growth and employment aspirations to enable them to engage high-level experts and strategic advisors to work closely with them in their business.

Already, 53 small businesses have received funding under Round 1 of the program and are using the grant to access tailored, one-on-one advice from business experts on issues such as market expansion, strategic direction and marketing for 6 – 12 months.

The program guidelines and application forms have been updated for Round 2. Applying businesses must have a clearly defined opportunity and plan for growth, and demonstrate how engaging external advice will assist the business to achieve these goals, as was required under Round 1.

To be eligible for funding, businesses must:

    • have a trading history of a minimum of three years at the time of applying for the grant
    • have a minimum turnover of $500 000 in the previous 12 months
    • have fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying for the grant
    • have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
    • have Queensland headquarters or significant Queensland operations
    • have competitive opportunities in domestic or international markets
    • be experiencing growth and have clearly defined high-growth and employment opportunities
    • declare if any owners or directors of the business are an undischarged bankrupt or insolvent.

For more information, including guidelines and terms and conditions and to apply for funding, visit Business Queensland.

Assessment panels will be held regularly to consider applications and cut-off dates will be advertised on Business Queensland.
