The Africa Down Under conference was created to raise awareness among Australian oil companies about the resources and mines in Africa. For 15 years, the conference has been the biggest overseas mining event in Africa. In order to understand the complexity of African mining issues, the ADU program organizes in-depth discussions involving field experts in security, infrastructure and financing of mining projects. Africa is undoubtedly the greatest treasure in the world and must be explored exhaustively using modern techniques.
The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI), held a "French-Speaking Africa" Pavilion at the ADU conference, in order to showcase the fantastic investment potential - in terms of raw materials - in French-speaking African countries. FACCI was proud to host the following companies: ARETHUSE, TECHNIDRILL, DASSAULT SYSTEMES and LASSARAT.
Additionally, the booth served as promotion of French companies wishing to highlight their presence in French-speaking Africa with the view to sell their services or to partner with Australian companies expecting to develop their business in those countries.
More than 200 Australian companies are already established in Africa, but only 30% of them are present in French-speaking countries. FACCI - with its extensive knowledge of the field - offers legislative, linguistic and commercial assistance to Australian companies wishing to settle in French-speaking Africa. A better understanding of French influence on African culture and history can only strengthen the commercial developments of Australian industries. The Chamber of Commerce also identified the established French companies’ reciprocal needs. They have every interest in working with Australian mining companies, whose advice, services and expertise benefit their business. It is certain that the experience and specific knowledge of a country is irreplaceable.
Through a range of events, FACCI acts as a platform to facilitate the commercial relationship between French-speaking Africa, Australia and France.
