YWCA NSW was established in 1880 with a focus on supporting, educating and providing safe harbour for women. With 135 years experience delivering positive outcomes to individuals and communities, YWCA NSW specialises in early intervention, prevention and crisis support services to women, children, young people and their families.
YWCA NSW…helping thousands of women, children, young people and their families every year.
This year alone we helped more than 1300 women experiencing domestic violence, provided shelter and assistance to 1280 people experiencing homelessness, educated 2500 young people on respectful relationships and supported more than 6,000 young people through our various youth programs.
Over the past 12 months, through the generosity of our donors, corporate partners and supporters, YWCA NSW has provided 56 programs and services to more than 17,000 individuals, families and communities*.
Our services deliver:
• Refuge housing for young women and their children
• Support for victims of domestic violence including court assistance
• Young Women’s leadership programs
• Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring
• Youth mentoring
In 2016 funds raised at our Mother Of All Balls will go to supporting and expanding our services for women and children escaping domestic violence.
