Welcome to Luc Didon, the new Director of the Alliance Française de Brisbane.
Luc arrived last week in Australia and is delighted to start his new role at the Alliance Française de Brisbane!
Luc has 30 years of experience in the French diplomatic network. After the Alliance in India, Trinidad & Tobago, Jerusalem and Bahrein, Luc will now discover Brisbane and the great Francophile community. And of course, he will get to know very soon our friendly students and members!
Luc is originally from Metz, Lorraine in France, where he completed a teaching degree. His first posting was in East Jerusalem to teach at the School of Administration. He then worked with various schools and institutions in France. Meanwhile, he undertook higher studies in the fields of linguistics and didactics.
In 1992, Luc was appointed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs as director of the Alliance Française in Hyderabad, India. In 1997, he moved to Bahrain in the Persian Gulf where he headed the Alliance Française in the country for 4 years.
Later Luc worked in France for the French Ministry of Education. He also went back to the University to complete a Masters degree in cultural event management. He then worked for the French-German cultural centre of Luxemburg.
In 2005, Luc was posted to Trinidad & Tobago in the West Indies where he was in charge of Cultural Affairs of the French Embassy and Director of Alliance Française of Trinidad & Tobago and of the Alliance Française of Barbados. He was then transferred back to India heading the Alliance Française de Pune until 2014. On his return to France, he worked for the Inspection Académique of Moselle, he also worked on the issues of Heritage and children’s cultural season for the Council for Culture of the Municipality of the city of Metz.
He is now in Australia and hopes to further strengthen cultural ties between Brisbane and France.
