Job Description

Reporting to Company Accountant, you will be in charge of:

Creating, organising and implementing events

  • Coordinating, assisting with the running of a wide variety of events ranging from smaller business seminars to large corporate events and gala dinners.
  • Posting about future and past events on the Chambers’ social media.
  • Selecting and liaising with external stakeholders: public and private partners, French and Australian companies, venues, entertainment, catering, and media.
  • Organising reception and accommodation of delegates.
  • Managing event bookings, payments and ticketing.
  • Supporting and fostering new members through communication tools and involvement at events.

Develop and strengthen member’s network

  • Expanding the existing client base.
  • Using the CRM, drafting newsletters, press releases.
  • Implementing and maintaining relationships with partners.

 

Successful Applicant:

Essential skills:

  • Right to work in Australia (WHV accepted)
  • ‘Convention de stage’ or learning agreement for internship with your university or college
  • Already be located in Australia or be able to move to Australia
  • Experience in events/sales/ marketing and communication
  • Very high level of written and spoken English and ideally French as well (you need to be confident answering the phone and writing emails)
  • Proactive and self-motivated independent worker
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude, flexible, able to adapt to different challenges and situations
  • Dynamic team player, organised, honest, fast learner and quick thinker
  • Initiative and Creativity

Desirable skills:

  • Skills in Project management
  • Experience using CRM, Eventbrite or other event organisation and ticketing programs

Gratification: $500 per month

  • Make sure the internship role is relevant to your studies
  • Fluent in English (daily phone conversations, emails)
  • Able to live 6 months away from France, friends and family
  • Have enough money to live in Melbourne for 6 months, as the internship gratification doesn’t cover the cost of living
