Welcome to our new Wine & Dine Member: L'Heritage

L’Heritage, a charming French restaurant nestled in the picturesque setting of Chowder Bay.

Nestled within the walls of an enchanting 1890s Chowder Bay army drill hall in Mosman, Sydney, L'Heritage emerges as a beacon of French culinary excellence, orchestrated by the dynamic duo Alena Rayrolles and Julien Audibert-Lebon - you might recognise them as the geniuses behind Mosman’s beloved Frenchy’s Café, and J’adore Catering respectively. Stepping into this meticulously restored heritage-listed space, patrons are transported to provincial France, where the charm of yesteryears collides with the gastronomic delights of contemporary French cuisine.

The journey to bring L'Heritage to life was not without its challenges. Two development applications faced setbacks, and then the world was gripped by lockdown. Undeterred they persisted, converting the heritage-listed building, devoid of essential kitchen amenities, into a culinary haven without compromising its historical integrity.

The interior of L'Heritage is a visual feast, adorned with Louis XVI-style parquet dining tables, a collection of family heirlooms, magnificent bellows, and leather-bound French classics sourced from Parisian flea markets. Picture windows framing the vivid blue hues of the nearby harbour, casting a spell of timeless elegance over the dining room.

Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard was the first distinguished guest, setting the tone for the bistro's grand opening in December 2021. His endorsement and promise to return with his wife were a testament to the success of Alena and Julien’s vision!

At L'Heritage, the culinary experience is designed to be quintessentially French, from business dinners to private parties they can cater for any occasion.

In essence, L'Heritage is not just a French bistro; it's a celebration of timeless French culinary traditions in the heart of Sydney's historic harbour.
