Alban Simon is commander in the French Navy and the Commanding Officer of one of the two crews of the polar vessel L’Astrolabe. He joined the French Navy in 1998 and has since worked as senior naval officer on different vessels or in HQs. His career includes the command of the French Navy minehunter Céphée based in Brest, Brittany (France). He also had the opportunity to work for the US Navy and the Ministry of European and International Affairs.
