Ernie is the Managing Director of Eni Australia Limited, and is responsible for Upstream Oil & Gas and Renewable activity in Australia and Timor Leste.

Eni is the operator of the Blacktip gas project which provides domestic gas to the Northern Territory and Eastern Australia. Eni is also the operator of the 11 Tcf Evans Shoal Gasfield development, that includes CO2 sequestration as part of the development concept. Eni has exploration and retention licenses in both Northern Australia offshore and Southern Timor Leste offshore.Eni is also embarking on the decommissioning of depleted oilfields Woollybutt and Kitan.

Eni has constructed 45MW of PV Solar across three locations in the Northern Territory, Katherine, Batchelor and Manton. The power grid fed by these installations is also fed by thermal generators that use Eni supplied gas, therefore power consumers will have the benefit of renewably supplied solar energy with the reliability backup of power generated from Eni’s gas supply.

Ernie has over 35 years of oil and gas industry experience ranging from Government entities, small independents to major international oil companies; Mobil and Eni. In the last 25 years, Ernie has been responsible for global exploration portfolios in addition to roles in production, planning, strategy and portfolio optimisation.

Ernie currently holds 6 board positions of Eni subsidiaries in Australia and Timor Leste, while previous board positions include CEO of EniRepSa Gas Ltd and a director of industry association APPEA.

Ernie has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Geology) from the University of Western Australia, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Master of Business Administration Degree from Bocconi University of Milan, Italy.
