Mark ScottManaging Director, Systra Scott Lister

Mark is CEO of SYSTRA Australia & New Zealand and Managing Director of SYSTRA Scott Lister, SYSTRA’s global Defence and Technology business.  SYSTRA is a French owned engineering consultancy and employs 7,000 staff globally.  Australia is a key country for SYSTRA and represents the 6th largest country by revenue.  SYSTRA and its SYSTRA Scott Lister subsidiary have been active in Australia since 2009.  In 2018 SYSTRA Scott Lister was appointed as a Major Service provider to the Department of Defence, as a founding member of the Team Downer consortium.

Mark is a member of the SYSTRA Scott Lister Board and the SYSTRA Global Management team.  He serves on the Team Downer Governance Board and is a member of the Executive Committee of RailCert, the 50/50 Joint Venture set up between and SYSTRA and GHD to certify Australia’s first operating Metro-line, Sydney Metro North-West.  His career spans almost 25 years, predominantly in Defence and Transportation.  As an engineer he has contributed to some of the UK and Australia’s largest and most-complex projects, including; the Vanguard and Astute Class submarine programs, Europe’s largest infrastructure project – the West Coast (Rail) Route Modernisation, and he was part of Navantia’s successful SEA4000 AWD bid, leading the bid in the areas of risk, system safety and compliance.  In Australia, he has held executive roles multiple major projects and operationally he has run engineering consultancy businesses since 2004.  Mark founded SYSTRA Scott Lister and prior to that he was General Manager, Transport ANZ for Lloyd’s Register.  He enjoys working within, and leading, international and multicultural teams that add value to the industry and society as a whole.
