The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry QLD Chapter is pleased to invite you to the first event of its Retail & Consumer Goods Series.

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry Queensland Chapter is pleased to invite you to the first event of its Retail & Consumer Goods Series dedicated to the rise of e-commerce, digitalisation and the marketplaces on Thursday 17 June.

E-commerce is not exactly new. Its rise coincides with the spreading of the internet and since the first days of Amazon and eBay in the mid-90s, it has - slowly but surely - changed the rules of the game in the retail sector. The invention of the iPhone in 2007 and the rise of social media propelled the phenomenon further and, with the COVID-19 pandemic keeping people indoor, the trend has soared to new heights, to now represent around 20% of total retail sales in Australia.

While consumers change behaviour and traditional retailers adapt to the new reality of the market, the new tech companies powering e-commerce websites and marketplaces are the real game-changers. With new marketplace platforms now dedicated to wholesalers, they are now taking the retail sector to new grounds and redefining B2B sales.

Please come and join our panelists from 5.30pm, at our member Deloitte's premises, for this exciting event kindly catered by our host and sponsor.

The event will also be available in streaming from 6pm (AEST).
