ABOUT WORLD OF DRONES

Returning to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 9-10, 2018, the prestigiousWorld of Drones Congress (WoDC) will gather drone operators, manufacturers, application developers, researchers and users to discuss the latest developments, trends and regulations on drone technology and applications.

The inaugural World of Drones Congress 2017 welcomed over 630 delegates from across the Asia Pacific and beyond and featured an expo with more than 30 exhibitors from Australia, China and Japan. Drones, on land, in the sea and in the air, continue to be deployed in new applications across the full spectrum of human activity and the global drone economy continues its rapid expansion, notably in the Asia Pacific region enticing economic opportunities for new applications.

Proudly sponsored by the Queensland Government, this year’s program themes include investment, venture capital and global business growth in the drone ecosystem; drone applications in property, construction and local transport; humanitarian and emergency response; drones in defence and security; conservation, environment, agricultural and resource industry; and research, training, jobs and career pathways.

Last year, the Queensland Government launched Australia’s first state-wide Drone Strategy at the World of Drones Congress 2017 and the congress’ program included the first Australian National Drone Safety Forum, which will return again this year together with the first Defence Industries Forum. The World of Drones Congress 2018 will also feature a 2500 Sq m fully indoor Drone Zone at BCEC, where exhibitors will demonstrate their products and engage in interactive activities with delegates and visitors.
