Keolis has completed the transaction to acquire Downer’s shares in the Keolis Downer joint venture. With this milestone, Keolis becomes the sole shareholder of its Australian operations, which will now operate under the Keolis brand. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Keolis in Australia - one that builds on a strong foundation of local experience and global expertise. With a presence of more than 15 years in five states and more than 3,500 employees, Keolis is well-positioned to continue delivering high-quality, multimodal transport services that connect communities and enhance everyday journeys.

Laurence Broseta, Keolis Group International CEO, said:

“We are proud to deepen our commitment to Australia, a strategic market for the Group’s international growth. This new structure gives us the agility to pursue new opportunities, form targeted partnerships to accelerate our development and strengthen our partnerships with public transport authorities. We look forward to continuing to deliver efficient, sustainable, and passenger-focused mobility solutions.”

David Franks, CEO of Keolis in Australia, added:

“This is a significant moment for our team and the communities we serve. We are excited to move forward as Keolis, building on our legacy and embracing new opportunities to grow and innovate. Our focus remains on delivering exceptional service and working closely with our partners to shape the future of public transport in Australia.”

Over the past 15 years, Keolis Downer has built a strong foundation of local expertise, enriched by global insights. Now, as Keolis takes full ownership of its Australian operations, the new structure enables even greater agility to deepen that knowledge exchange - bringing Keolis’ expertise and international innovation to local teams, while continuing to invest in homegrown capability.
