Gameloft Brisbane unveils its new Bluey game as Queensland becomes Australia’s second-largest hub for video game development and digital production.

On 26 March 2026, Gameloft Brisbane unveiled a new video game, Bluey’s Happy Snaps, developed in collaboration with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios.

Developed in Brisbane, the game invites players to explore Bluey’s world through interactive gameplay designed for families, with a release planned for Spring 2026 across PC and consoles.

The announcement comes as Gameloft Brisbane continues to expand and Queensland's digital industry sector grows.

Studio growth and international distribution

Since its establishment in 2014 with a team of around 15 developers, Gameloft Brisbane has grown to more than 130 employees, making it one of the larger video game development studios in Australia.

Games developed in Brisbane are now played by audiences in more than 100 countries, highlighting the international reach of Queensland’s creative sector according to the studio.

Queensland's position in the games industry

Australia’s video game development sector generated $608.5 million in revenue in FY2025 (IGEA 2025 Industry Snapshot).

Within this national context, Queensland has become the second-largest hub for video game development in Australia. Growth has been supported by government initiatives, including the Digital Games Tax Offset and programs delivered by Screen Queensland.

Manea Castet, Head of Studio at Gameloft Brisbane, said of the sector:

“Across the world, the industry is evolving rapidly, and there are still significant opportunities for growth. With initiatives such as the Digital Games Tax Offset and strong support from screen agencies, Australia is well positioned to attract investment and develop globally successful projects.”

Queensland Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates, said of the announcement:

“Queensland is quickly becoming a leading hub for video games development and it’s fantastic to see our creativity on display on the world stage.” Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said.

Workplace recognition within Australia’s digital sector

Gameloft Brisbane was recognised in 2025 as a Great Place to Work, with 91% of employees reporting a positive workplace experience, compared to a national benchmark of around 60%.

The studio also reports that women represent 50% of leadership roles, reflecting a broader focus on diversity and inclusion within the organisation.

About the game

In Bluey’s Happy Snaps, players follow Bluey and Bingo as they explore familiar locations, take photos and interact with their environment through a series of creative activities.

The game is designed as a premium experience, without in-game purchases or online play, and draws inspiration from everyday family life and locations around Brisbane.
