CYLAD developed an ESG Strategy for a major car rental company
CYLAD supported a car rental company APAC subsidiary in the definition and implementation of an ESG strategy and portfolio of initiatives.
The shift in end-user behaviours towards sustainability requires companies to adapt and integrate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices into their core operations. In addition, companies have defined net zero plans with ambitious targets, and concrete actions must be implemented and monitored to achieve them.
The Bill which introduces the framework for Australia's first climate-related financial disclosure regime was passed by Parliament on 9 September 2024. Group 1 entities in Australia will have to start reporting in January 2025.
The challenge
An international car rental company needed to define and implement a robust ESG strategy for the APAC region to:
- Follow the acceleration of the shift in the customers' priorities toward ESG topics
- Achieve ambitious targets by 2030 established by the headquarters
A 3-step approach was followed:
- Development of a comprehensive and tailored maturity grid to assess the ESG maturity, and main stakeholders’ concerns
- Definition of ESG priority topics and tangible associated objectives to achieve the 2030 targets
- Set-up and management of an ESG project portfolio
This led to:
- The definition of a tailored ESG framework covering 21 topics
- 15 ESG objectives defined
- More than 60 projects identified and launched
