Novotel Brisbane South Bank named Australia’s Best Tourism & Leisure Development

Novotel Brisbane South Bank has added a prestigious Property Council of Australia award to its growing list of accolades.

Novotel Brisbane South Bank has added a prestigious Property Council of Australia award to its growing list of accolades, taking home the coveted award for Australia’s Best Tourism & Leisure Development at the 2020 Innovation and Excellence Awards.

Novotel Brisbane South Bank triumphed over other category finalists including Victoria’s Garden State Hotel, the Adelaide Festival Centre Internal Works Upgrade, and the W Hotel and Brisbane Quarter.

The $70 million hotel opened in 2018 and is managed by Accor under its international Novotel brand.

The Kinstone Developments-designed hotel, draws inspiration from iconic hotels in Paris, Bangkok and Sydney and perfectly complements its locale (floor to ceiling windows in each guestroom, ‘floating’ bathroom sinks, custom designed modular bedroom furniture, and an open plan lobby).

The hotel’s ‘Gold’ status for Accor’s ‘Planet 21’ Sustainable Development Program was also highly regarded. This important commitment was at the forefront of owner’s minds at all times during development.

Novotel Brisbane South Bank General Manager, Jean-Philippe Lagarde, said:

“We are immensely proud to be nationally recognised for our contribution to tourism and leisure. Our team is now focused on recovering from the challenges of 2020. We look forward to sharing our hotel with leisure and business guests as the Australian economy grows and tourism to the River City returns from both domestic and international travellers.”
