Flinders University has reaffirmed its research and educational excellence in the prestigious Times Higher Education rankings for 2020.

Flinders University has reaffirmed its research and educational excellence in the prestigious Times Higher Education rankings for 2020.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling says Flinders University rose 17 places to 271,  consolidating its position in the top 300, which it advanced into last year.

“Our vision to be internationally recognised as a world leader in research and an innovator in contemporary education is being delivered as evidenced by improvements in our position in global rankings.

“These results reflect our strong underlying performance and are a testament to the quality of the work done by our staff and the achievements of our students.

“Our research is making a difference by tackling issues of local, national and global significance and our graduates have the skills required for success in the knowledge economy” Professor Stirling says.

“We are set to further build on this performance with a suite of new research institutes and centres, ongoing investments in state of the art facilities and in the talented people who will achieve our vision.

The Times Higher Education 2020 result caps a strong 12 months for Flinders, with improved performance across a wide range of metrics including the Good Universities Guide, both the QS and ARWU rankings and in the Commonwealth’s Student Experience Survey and Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment.
