The Australian Space Agency released its first State of Space Report
The 2019 State of Space Report documents the Australian Government’s civil space responsibilities and activities from 1 January 2018 to 30 June 2019.
The Australian Space Agency was established on 1 July 2018. This is the Agency’s first report.
This report covers activities under the strategic pillars of the Australian Civil Space Strategy, which focus on transforming and growing Australia’s space industry:
- opening doors internationally
- increasing capability nationally
- responsible regulation, risk and culture
- inspiring and building the future workforce
In 2018, the Australian space sector entered into a new phase of activity, with the establishment of Australia’s first national space agency. The Australian Space Agency’s (the Agency) purpose is to effect long-term transformation and growth of Australia’s space industry, with the aim of achieving a space sector worth $12 billion per annum, supporting another 20,000 space industry jobs by 2030.
