Victoria Police Goes Live with New Mobile App, Powered by Phoenix DX
Victoria Police has launched a new mobile app enabling officers to issue penalty notices on the spot, cutting paperwork and boosting efficiency.
Victoria Police has officially commenced deployment of its new mobile application, powered by OutSystems’ low-code platform, to streamline field operations and improve officer productivity when policing. The app, developed in collaboration with the OutSystems partner Phoenix DX, is now actively used by frontline officers to enhance efficiency in issuing electronic penalty infringement notices (ePINs).
The launch of this new technology marks a significant step forward in Victoria Police’s ongoing digital transformation efforts. By leveraging the OutSystems low-code development platform, officers can now complete administrative tasks faster and with greater accuracy, allowing them to focus more on community safety. Further plans for the technology are currently in the planning stages.
The new mobile application allows Victoria Police officers to generate and process penalty notices directly from their mobile devices in minutes, significantly reducing paperwork and administrative backlog. The intuitive interface ensures ease of use, enabling officers to issue citations promptly while maintaining compliance with legal requirements.
This deployment is a major milestone for Victoria Police to modernise and optimise policing processes. This new mobile application equips officers with cutting-edge digital tools, which enhances efficiency and ensuring more time is focused on frontline duties rather than administrative tasks.
Phoenix DX and OutSystems, trusted partners of Victoria Police, played a crucial role in developing the solution and ensuring a seamless implementation that meets Victoria Police’s stringent operational and security requirements. The collaboration between Victoria Police, OutSystems, and PhoenixDX has resulted in a tailored solution that can scale and adapt to future policing needs.
Paul Arthur, VP for ANZ at OutSystems, highlighted the platform’s benefits:
“The ability to rapidly develop and iterate applications is what makes OutSystems stand out. With this solution now live, Victoria Police can continuously refine and enhance functionality based on officer feedback, ensuring it remains a vital tool in the field.”
Pedro Carrilho, Managing Director at Phoenix DX, emphasised how working collaboratively empowered delivering a high-quality solution in record time:
“It has been a privilege to develop applications that directly support the community and front-line mobility teams. This achievement was only possible through a strong partnership with multiple stakeholders and a deep understanding of sworn officers’ operations in the field. By working as one integrated team and leveraging a Platform & Agile delivery approach, we ensured officers have the tools they need to work more safely and efficiently in the field.”
The success of this implementation paves the way for further digital innovation within Victoria Police. The agility of the OutSystems platform means additional features can be developed and integrated quickly, providing ongoing improvements to law enforcement operations.
Peter Swart, Regional Director at OutSystems, added:
“Seeing this project come to life with our technology being actively used by Victoria Police to enhance public safety is the culmination of hard work and real innovation. This project showcases how low-code development can drive real-world impact, improving operational effectiveness while supporting those who serve the community.”
Victoria Police’s adoption of this mobile app signals a broader commitment to leveraging digital tools for better service delivery, reinforcing its mission to protect and serve the people of Victoria efficiently and effectively.
