Sanofi Employees Volunteer at Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games
As a Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sanofi employees worldwide are volunteering to support the delivery of the Games.
As a Premium Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Official Partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Torches Relays, Sanofi develops a range of opportunities to engage employees in Paris and around the world.
These opportunities include a one-of-a-kind Volunteer program with 2,024 Sanofians from 54 countries supporting the delivery of the Paris 2024 Games. Sanofi’s cohort is the largest and most diverse group within the 45,000 volunteers community, and are represented across gender, age groups, ethnicities, and levels of management.
Australia’s delegation includes three team members volunteering at the Olympics and one team member at the Paralympics who, as part of the Volunteer contingent, are the event’s hands, feet and heart directly contributing to the celebration of unity and diversity.
One volunteer is Mike Zhang who leads the local Vaccines business;
Mike Zhang, General Manager Vaccines, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, volunteering as a Photo Positions Team Member supporting quality images distributed around the world, said:
“ Science and sport aren’t that different. Just like athletes do, we overcome setbacks to keep moving forward, not just for ourselves, but for our patients, colleagues, families and friends.
Wearing the volunteer uniform and being a part of the Paris 2024 Games is a huge honour and something I have been preparing for over the past year. It’s a unique chance to see people chasing success in their sporting pursuits, while standing alongside other Sanofi volunteers who chase the miracles of science every day.
Here in Paris the city is excited, the stadiums are electric and we’re being kept busy with our duties and special events. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
All volunteers underwent comprehensive training in storytelling, cultural awareness, diversity and inclusion, and first aid to prepare them for their tasks, and support them in being true ambassadors of Team Sanofi and all athletes on the ground.
Other volunteers include:
- Karen Aspros, People & Organisation Development Manager *Olympic Volleyball volunteer
- Patricia Buselli, Customer Care Lead with Consumer Healthcare *Olympic Tennis volunteer
- Fuki Kurimoto, Regulatory Affairs Project Manager *Paralympics volunteer
