Investment NSW's prospectus is highlighting keys to expand renewable energy and clean technology footprint in NSW.
Investment NSW introduces the NSW Net Zero and Clean Economy Investment Prospectus, which highlights a raft of options across NSW, as the world decarbonises.
Alister Henskens, Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade & Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, says:
"As nations and industries around the world accelerate their efforts to reduce carbon emissions, NSW is in a prime position to become a renewable energy and clean technology powerhouse."
Matt Kean, Treasurer & Minister for Energy, adds:
"The NSW Government’s ambitious Net Zero Plan outlines how the state is pursuing lower emissions while giving businesses access to new markets and technologies. This plan includes targets to halve 2005 emissions by 2030 and meet Net Zero by 2050."
To achieve this goal, New South Wales is relying on:
- Electricity innovation and Renewable Energy Zones: renewable energy is delivered by the optimal combination of solar and wind conditions.
- Green hydrogen: the global demand is growing.
- Critical minerals and battery ecosystem: the resources are built from the history of the mining industry and environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials.
- Circular economy: innovation is boosted while reducing waste and emissions.
Alister Henskens, Minister for Enterprise, Investment and Trade & Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, announces:
"The opportunities for businesses looking to expand their renewable energy and clean technology footprint are extensive in NSW."
